MONTALBANO TOUR by Marijana Bzovski

"We are in the heart of a land that tells the whole history of humanity, from the prehistoric settlements close to the sea up to the baroque old town centers of Val di Noto, Unesco."

In fact, on this tour we start first from the Baroque-Scicli World Heritage city, privileged location in the episodes of Montalbano, where there was the setting for the exterior of the Commissioner of Vigata. Coming out of this beautiful city we go towards the campaign to visit the "Gli Aromi" company. The path will be a real immersion in the scents and flavors of Sicily with tastings. Not far from the company is the famous location the "Mannara", a fantastic example of industrial architecture that retains a charm that has made movie set in more than one occasion. The tour continues along the Hyblean coast until arriving in Punta Secca, where location is the house of Montalbano. Our journey will continue until Ragusa Ibla called Montelusa in Montalbano fiction where we will visit the historic and baroque starting from the police headquarters in Montelusa and arriving in the grand square of the church of St. George. After the tour you'll taste the famous "Arancini di Montalbano" and to end the day "on a sweet note", they will taste the typical biscuits from Ragusa and the inevitable chocolate Modica (Cioccolato di Modica). This tour will take place on Saturday and Sunday and on public holidays.

DONNAFUGATA CASTLE

The Castle of Donnafugata, "vacation" first 800 of Arezzo baron, is back to being one of the main destinations of ibleo tourism.

Not far from Ragusa, between carob trees and dry stone walls, rises the Donnafugata Castle. Ancient rural complex late 800, over time become elegant patrician country dwelling of the wealthy family Arezzo Scucces. Going up to the main floor, where up to March 26, 2017 we will be able to visit the exhibition "Between Pizzi and Merletti.Storie of private life.", we will admire the most interesting rooms: the Hall of Emblems, the Hall of Mirrors, the Billiard Room and that of the Vescono. But always in the main floor there are also the great Exhibition of Music, the Living Lord, the Smoking Lounge, the Waiting Room and then a historical Library with many old books. Interesting outside the castle is also the visit to the park, full of large ficus, fountains, the Coffee House where the Baron took the coffee in the morning and then the big labyrinth and finally a small chapel.
